On a wet afternoon back in March, students and staff from Recovery College, along with members of the Spiritual Care Team, received a very warm welcome at the Balaji Temple in Tividale. We were treated to a tour of the beautiful buildings, explanations about Hinduism including the importance of inner peace and compassion to all, and some delicious food to finish with. The site used to be a rubbish dump and is now like a village with an array of buildings for different purposes and landscaped gardens. The Hindu community that runs it love people to visit and to serve the community and are many local school groups have been shown round. It was also special to see the small Museum dedicated to Ghandi. All in all a very inspiring and fascinating morning, and lovely to be with people in person that I have only seen on screen in recent years! Thanks to Rakesh and Louise for arranging.
