Mind Kind: Working With Fathers Event, Walsall

Walsall Children's Services are launching its 'Working with Fathers' Strategy as part of a dynamic approach to supporting fathers in the borough.

Work on this partnership-led strategy started in September 2021, following the findings of several national reports and Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (previously called Serious Case Reviews) that highlighted the need to engage with fathers at the earliest opportunity.

The findings have led to a change in the way in which services deliver support by addressing engrained roles, stereotypes and expectations of parents in society, and aims for a 'father-inclusive' approach.
